Joanna was chosen along with 250 artists and celebrities throughout the UK to support the endangered Asian elephant by showcasing brightly painted life-size elephants located over central London in the summer of 2010. Each decorated by a different artist or celebrity, the elephants brightened and beautified the city, being placed in prime positions around London. Running from May to July, this was London’s biggest public art exhibition, with an estimated audience of 25 million, the campaign raised over ?4 million for the Asian elephant and benefited more than 20 UK conservation charities. Joanna’s location for her elephant was outside the Royal National Theatre on the South Bank, she had an interview by the charity Elephant Family on May 22nd . Miniatures were produced for the tourist trade. Joanna’s large Elephant was auctioned through Sotheby’s along with a selection of the other elephants and her elephant made £12,000 to save the Asian Elephant.
