This painting is one of Joanna’s more contemporary hares on canvas, where she uses the movement of a hare in flight during a boxing match.
In 2008 Joanna launched this style of hare painting at the Raymond Blanc’s show she did at his Hotel ‘Le Manior Aux Quat’ Saisons in Oxfordshire’. A large canvas hare, similar to this one, but silver in colour was the first painting to sell.
In this painting, Joanna uses gold paint threading through the image giving glamour and a sense of movement to the painting.
This is a male hare boxing. The males are smaller than the females and their face shape is slightly narrower.
There is a Golden Hare Male to accompany the Golden Female. Both Golden Hare Female and Male can be purchased together on a separate a canvas or framed as male and female.
