What the Hand Dare Sieze

Based on the poem by William Blake the words ‘’What the Hand Dare Seize the Fire’’ are written subtlety in the black stripe of the tiger.

This painting was produced for an exhibition at the Joanna May Studio Gallery in 2010. At this exhibition, Joanna raised money for the tiger for WWF (World Wild Fund for Nature) and this painting sold for £10,000.

Again TV presenter Chris Packham supported the show. Joanna carried out her research on tigers at Chris’’s partner, Charlotte Corney’’s Conservation and Rescue Zoo on the Isle of Wight.

The tiger in the painting is called Zia
