2012 – The Iconic Animals of London Zoo. This was Joanna’s biggest Solo Show to date.
Joanna May’s solo show was based on the iconic animals of London Zoo and was produced in a pop art style, in bright colours, a diversion from her usual realism. It was held at The Savoy Hotel in London and celebrated David Attenborough’s sixty years in wildlife television. The show was opened by wildlife television presenter, Michaela Strachan, and attended by the actress Rula Lenska. A series of three coloured leopard prints sold to Old Mutual Bank to become part of their art collection and ‘Jumbo’ the Elephant sold to a collector in Germany along with many other prints and originals. The event was attended by 300 of her private clients.
