October 2013, Exhibition and Auction of new and past work
This event, in October 2013, was the launch of Joanna’s series of Moon Bear paintings and auctioned prints and paintings to support the Animals Asia charity, raising awareness and funds to help end bear farming for bile in China and Vietnam. It was an exhibition of new and past work. It included an afternoon tea, a talk by Jill Robinson MBE founder and CEO of Animals Asia, poetry reading by actress Rula Lenska and an auction of Joanna’s work by BBC’s ‘Flog It’ presenter Paul Martin. The antique dealer and TV presenter, Eric Knowles, from the programme, The Antique Road Show, also attended. Joanna raised £6,000 to help save the Moon Bear and had the privilege of naming a rescued bear ,Joanna May, in honour of her fund raising.
